Christmas is cancelled,
The goose is looking skinny,
Please put some beer,
In the old man's tinny.
If I were a minister,
Then dinner would still be scrummy,
By spending the allowances,
And claiming them for the nanny!

Ernest and Ernesto,
Writers in the land,
Of romantic ideology,
Home to the guerilla band.
Salsa, rumba, mambo,
To Caribbean beat,
Socialist revolution,
And capitalist defeat.
The sun shines on some people,
Where Ciboney and Spaniard mate,
Marxist-Leninist leanings,
An atheistic state.
Talk to Young People, but listen,
Columbus told the truth,
He had found the Isle of Beauty,
Next to the Isle of Youth.
The tocororo and mariposa,
To delight your every view,
And colonial architecture,
Since 1492.
Monos y Christianos,
And A Moveable Feast of bread,
Seek out a front room library,
Where illicit books are read.
Gonzalez, Garcia, Biscet,
Claim the Ladies in White,
With Paneque and Marta Roque,
Just want Human Rights.
So, a brief Farewell to your graceful Arms
As Back on the Road you go,
Return home soon my darling,
Before I'm 'troppo vecchio'!
The Sun Also Rises after it sets,
So dream until sunrise,
Of Isla Juana in history,
That was a writer's paradise.
